Greetings Anam Cara,
Hope this letter finds you well through this chilly month of June. We are about to experience the second eclipse in the trilogy of eclipses on Sunday the 21st June. Unfortunately it is not visible from South Africa, but the energy will most certainly be felt.
“But even though eclipses are major, they’re actually not that rare. In fact, each year, there are between three and seven eclipses and they often occur in clusters. A nearly two-year-long eclipse series began on July 13, 2018 that will be electrifying the Cancer-Capricorn axis, shifting our public perception of safety (symbolised by Cancer )and authority (represented by Capricorn). The final eclipse on this axis will occur on July 5–6, 2020, when a total lunar eclipse at 13 degrees Capricorn concludes this two-year cycle.
Regarding the Gemini-Sagittarius eclipses, the last time we saw these was in December 2010 to November 2012. What life lessons began for you nearly a decade ago? Is your life on your dream path? Or does this next cycle in 2020 mean finally using your will and skills to turn dreams into a reality? Sagittarius in particular which is ruled by lucky planet Jupiter, knows how to get what it wants.
Just as new moons are linked to beginnings and full moons are tied to culminations, eclipses serve as celestial checkpoints. An eclipse is a high-octane lunation that helps illuminate our karmic path, but just as these cosmic events can be visually striking, eclipses can also be a bit dramatic. Astrologically speaking, they speed up time: They open new doors by slamming others shut, so we often find abrupt and sudden shifts occurring during eclipses. Though the shifts can be jarring, they can help us by speeding up the inevitable.
So, if you’ve been dragging your feet, an eclipse will be sure to give you that extra push (or shove) needed to take action. While the results can be shocking, remember that these lunation's simply expedite the inevitable— these events were going to happen eventually.
Solar eclipses, which will occur in 2020 on June 21 and December 14, correspond with new beginnings and unexpected opportunities. However, since the sun (which symbolises our external experiences) is obscured by the moon (representing our emotional inner world) during this lunation, solar eclipse events often first begin internally. For many people, solar eclipses are when we realise we need more than what we’re currently receiving. They're a time to send cosmic invitations to the universe and to welcome abundance.
Reference allure
We experienced a partial solar eclipse in Cancer on July 13th 2018, which was a big deal as it was the first lunation in this brand new series. It marked the first chapter of a new karmic series. So think back to what occurred in your life at this time . Create a mind map and add all the major players, the conflicts and the locations - and join the dots. Now consider the same questions for January 5th to 6th 2019. How did this narrative unfold ? What was the theme, behavioural patterns, conflicts, narratives or perhaps the same people in the mix - that ran through that eclipse energy ? There are patterns, all you have to do is link the dots!
Now carry that pattern through to this eclipse trilogy 2020! You might find this an enlightening practice- and one that will certainly help you to understand things more deeply . Perhaps to work on your shadow self, or cut through illusions about people and the way they interact with you. You will certainly to come to some realisation point. The whole object of this self enquiry and analysation is to lead to self growth and spiritual rebirth. Expect the unexpected and accept the unknown. Although our vantage is limited to our current realities - we know the horizon extends past our vision. Life is an interesting journey, so enjoy the ride.
Hope you have a magical weekend filled with deep reflections and self discovery. Keep the home fires burning and fill the hearth with love and laughter. Happy Winter Solstice.
